I think I've always loved old crap. I can remember playing with vintage brass candlesticks, turn of the century dresses and various other objets (old brass keys, scraps of fabric, clip on earrings) that our grandmothers and an older neighbor gave to us when we were little. Each thing had such history, it was that much easier to imagine we were Victorian ladies taking tea. Flash forward to the present, where I find myself digging through spiderwebbed shops on a regular basis, hunting for that special something.
Today, I stopped into my favorite favorite favorite shops. They're all on a strip of Fairfax called Little Ethiopia, and they never disappoint. Check out the goodies I spotted:
Vintage brass horse head hooks. I mean... |
Oversized glass jug. Gorg! |
Purple and coral needlepoint poppies! |
So I'm having a needlepoint moment. So what? |
Peacock chair, anyone? |
STUNNING china cabinet. I think it was only $1600. |
I die for this blue mid century lamp. Pic doesn't do it justice. |
Beautiful canary yellow oil painting. |
Navy blue leather, nail heads...what more do I need to say? |
Anyone looking for The Price Is Right signage? Call me!
So which treasure did I bring home with me? Do you even have to ask??
Coming soon to an office reno near you...
Happy thrifting, friends!
