Have I mentioned that we won a week in this Paris apartment? Oh, yes. It's true. At a fundraiser, we lost our vacation-starved, wine-soaked minds and bid on a week's stay in this Louvre-adjacent flat:

I mean, if I had a dream apartment in the city of lights, I'd like to think I'd decorate exactly this way. Curious about the designers (Paris-based firm "double g"), I did a little research and came upon their website. It didn't disappoint:

Laundry Room Fantasies

Not sure what it says about me that my number one daydream involves laundry rooms. They're not just your average laundry rooms, though...

You have to understand where I'm coming from. In LA, as in any major city, space is hard to come by. My "laundry room"  is a closet in my kitchen. I would post a picture but it's just too sad to look at; I'd rather stare at these beauties instead, wouldn't you?

This last one's my favorite. Every last detail is perfect. So swanky!

Ro Sham Beaux: Fancy Fixtures

I'm always on the lookout for unexpected but beautiful overhead fixtures. I came across Ro Sham Beaux awhile back (a few of them are featured in Serena and Lily's catalog) but only recently checked out Charleston, SC-based designer Ann Yancy Rogers' complete collection. I'm sorry it took me so long--they are stunning! Of course, I'm completely obsessed; I've been mentally designing dream rooms around them all afternoon...

Palm Springs Fantasy Project

After a really restful holiday break, I'm so happy to be back in the swing of things at home and here on the bloggy-blog. We had been feeling so burnt out by everything we have going on, in particular our garage reno (we are in the home stretch!) and rotating illnesses, so we hightailed it to the desert for a week of much needed rest. I actually picked up a book and read at one point, which hasn't happened in months.

We rented the sweetest little modern house in Palm Springs proper--modern, clean, bright white--the kind I always fantasize about living in. As sweet as it was, I couldn't help redecorating the living room in my mind. Just for fun:
